I am so glad that the Lord led me to Central Africa Baptist University for my theological studies. When I sensed the call to ministry, I did not know of CABU until one of the graduates introduced me and recommended that I apply. I must confess that I came, not knowing what I would encounter. As I arrived, the welcome from the student body to the faculty and staff was just overwhelming. I felt at home and ease.
My life at CABU was full of adventure. I not only had a wonderful time searching the Scriptures, but I built long term healthy friendships at CABU. I was equipped and mentored for ministry. Today as I serve in my local church, I feel confident in handling the Word of God. Because of what I learned about servant leadership at CABU, I enjoy serving my local church here in Kenya.
Not only did CABU expose me to theology and give me an understanding of ministry, but the extension ministry program impacted my life. I was called to serve in various church contexts and internship programs that resulted in practical training. I was able to relate what I learned in class with the day to day ministry of a local church.
In addition to all the other incredible benefits, by God’s grace, I met my wife at CABU. CABU has married student housing to help married students continue with their studies while living together as a family. CABU also sponsors the students’ spouses to take classes at no cost. My wife was a beneficiary of this program!
We are so grateful to the partners of CABU who make theological training possible to both pastors and their wives. I also benefitted from a Timothy Scholarship that paid my tuition fees for the four years that I was at CABU.
I am very grateful that CABU not only imparted God’s knowledge to me but also prepared me adequately for ministry. May the Lord bless CABU and the CABU partners for making theological training possible in Africa. The African church greatly benefits from well-designed theological training that focuses on a biblical worldview that results in gospel-centered disciples of Jesus Christ.
